About Us

My wife and I purchased a home which the previous owners had installed a large Koi pond.  I knew nothing about Koi or Koi ponds other than my wife quite liked it.  I did quickly learn that having a Koi pond can be a lot of maintenance.  Over the years I have been dealing with the sediment that accumulates at the bottom of the pond.  After trying multiple solutions already on the market and being dissatisfied with all of them, as an engineer I decided to develop my own.  Several revisions later the Muckinator was born.  I liked it so much, I decided I would sell it to other pond owners to make their lives better as well.  

After going through the process of setting everything up to sell the Muckinator it is paving the way to bring other things to the market.  I am most interested in developing solutions where I am not satisfied with anything that is currently available.  

I live in Louisiana with my wife, three kids, and lots of pets.  We operate TharpTech as a family business and care about the products we make and our customers.
